There are a number of ways that you can help promote the growth and development of Bebor Model Nursery/Primary School. 1) Make a donation: Since its inception in October 2000, the primary mission of the International Friends Committee of Bebor Model Nursery and Primary School has been to raise funds through individual contributions to enable the school to build new buildings and provide adequate classroom space for its pupils. Visit The Buildings section and the Bane Extension section of this website to see photographic evidence of what we have been able to do for the school so far. For more information, you can also visit our Documents and Reports section and read our Current Fundraising Letter. Our strategic partnership with the Indianapolis-based children's charity The Timmy Foundation means that American donors can now receive a 501(C)3 non-profit tax deduction for any charitable donation to Bebor Model Nursery and Primary School. If you have access to US dollar checks, please make your check payable to The Timmy Foundation and send it to the following address:
Scott and Tijen Pegg 5639 Spindrift Lane Indianapolis, IN 46220 USA
You can also make an online donation through our partners at the Timmy Foundation. If you do this, please be sure to designate Nigeria or the Bebor School as your intended beneficiary. Otherwise, the donation might be used for one of the Timmy Foundation’s other projects. Please click here to make an online donation through the Timmy Foundation. Thanks very much!
If you work for a corporation that has a matching gift program, please check to see if donations to The Timmy Foundation are eligible here as this is an easy and wonderful way to double the impact of your donation. If you do not have access to US dollar checks or need to make special arrangements, please get in touch with

. Unless you specifically request otherwise, all donors will have their names listed on the International Friends section of this website, receive a souvenir calendar and a thank you letter from the school itself and a 501(C)3 letter from The Timmy Foundation.
2) Make a personal connection with the school: While monetary contributions are what buy bags of cement and zinc panels for the roof, this project has also strived from its inception to connect the school, its pupils and the larger Bodo City community to the outside world. Just knowing that people care about them, are interested in their lives and want to connect with them means a lot to the school. One thing the school especially likes is receiving letters and photographs. Reverend Moses Nyimale Lezor, the school's Director, has two photo albums with pictures, postcards and other souvenirs that friends of the school have sent him. Globalization should be about a lot more than just transnational corporations, the IMF and the World Trade Organization. Sending a letter and photograph or holiday greeting card to the school is one way that you can ensure that it is. Please address your correspondence to:
Reverend Moses Nyimale Lezor, School Director Bebor Model Nursery and Primary School 1 Bebor Avenue P.O. Box 74 Bodo City, Gokana Kingdom, Ogoni Rivers State, NIGERIA
Please do not send monetary contributions to the school directly. To date, the Nigerian postal service has a 100% success rate in delivering mail to and from the school. Please be aware, though, that mail probably takes about one month in each direction.
3) Put the school in touch with a nursery or elementary school in your community: One of the things we hope to do is link Bebor Model Nursery and Primary School with either other schools or specific classrooms in some sort of pen-pal or sister school relationship. If you are a nursery or elementary school teacher or know someone who is, please get in touch with

to discuss establishing some sort of pen-pal or exchange relationship with Bebor Model Nursery and Primary School.
4) Donate books, lesson plans or other educational material suitable for children in the 4-13 year old age range: The average per capita income in Bodo City is probably about $300 a year. The community's extreme poverty makes buying quality educational material for the pupils very difficult. If you have access to relevant educational material that you could donate and send to the school, please get in touch with

5) Share this information with your friends and family: Please tell other friends and family members about this project and ask them to get involved and contribute however they can.
Thank you very much.
